So Encouraging

Note: This write-up and photo were originally posted on Tiffany's Facebook and Instagram on Friday, March 19 (so "today" refers to that date). Due to overwhelming positive response, we decided it ought to have a place on our blog as well! Whenever God uses you to bring positive change to someone else's life, build a memorial! These days, it may not always be a statue or pile of rocks, but it could often be a blog or social media post.

This is how we celebrate...

A woman we know who has been in a relationship with her boyfriend for 8 years and they've been living together for I think 7 years and they have 3 kids -- she and her boyfriend just got engaged because -- she said -- of Anthony Salerno and me getting married!

She said that she could see how God is blessing our union and using us together, and she wants that for her family. She kept emphasizing how she wants to be in alignment with our Creator and His ways and to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading.

Her boyfriend first proposed to her when they were pregnant with her first and she turned him down. Sometime later she asked him and he said no. So she was a little nervous to propose to him today but she felt it was the right thing to do. He already had proposed first as the man but she didn't want to get married at the time just because they were having a baby, like a shotgun wedding.

She wanted to get married because they have chosen each other, regardless of kids or working together or anything like that, that they know that they are who each other wants to be with forever and make that commitment under God.

So she proposed to him today and he said yes and now they are engaged!

She said she has such peace knowing their relationship is coming under God's covering and she has a sense that she is right where she is supposed to be now, doing exactly what she's meant to be doing, in alignment with God.

She called me even before calling her mom! What an honor.

If you’re in a committed relationship and already living together, I would encourage you to seek the Lord about if he may want you to marry your partner. A marriage isn’t just a piece of paper, it is a covenant before God and unity commands a blessing (Psalm 133:1-3).

If I want to be used to by God to change someone else’s life, walk in obedience because others are watching. They will see the light through your genuine words and undeniable actions.

Let’s keep in step with the Holy Spirit and spur one another on to love and good deeds.
